ELECTRIC EDWARDIANS: THE FILMS OF MITCHELL & KENYON
Culled from a veritable treasure trove of recently discovered footage, ELECTRIC EDWARDIANS is an unparalleled glimpse into everyday life in early 20th Century Britain. Commissioned by early traveling exhibitors for showings at local fairgrounds, town halls and theaters, the firm of Sagar Mitchell and James Kenyon shot some 800 films, documenting everything from street scenes and sporting events, to local industry and parades. These amazing time capsules were recently discovered in carefully packed barrels in a dusty cellar - and now they return to the screen in all their pristine glory.
